Slides have been around for a couple seasons now and so has the pajamas inspired looks. Vogue even wrote about the pajama look as well as many other respected fashion sites. I broke down how to wear this trend by your style confidence.
Beginner: Dipping your toes in.
You only want to experiment with the pajama trend ever so slightly. Start with these mule slides. They look like slippers you would wear around the house in your pajamas, especially the fur mule slides. Wear these shoes with jeans and a t-shirt. You can’t go wrong with jeans and a tee because it’s so basic and experimenting with your shoes is an easy way to try a bold trend.
Intermediate: Feeling extra stylish.
Mastered the slides? It’s time to bring in another element. I consider my look to be intermediate. I have on slides and I added a robe inspired top. This robe top is actually a dress and it could be worn buttoned up. Buttoning this up and wearing mules or heels is a different level that I’m not quite ready for. I wanted to break my pajama look up because I’m personally not ready to commit 100%, no matter how much I love experimenting.
Another option would be to add a silk blouse to jeans and slides. They have some cute short sleeve tops that would be really cute with jeans and slides.
Advanced: Who says pajamas are only for bed?
Now, I don’t actually recommend wearing your pajamas out and about but you could wear a matching two piece pajama inspired set out and about. Make sure this is of good quality and that you are well put together. The last thing you need is to look like you rolled out of bed!
I had my eye on this button up dress this spring. I had thought about wearing it to the Nicole Miller Luncheon during Memphis Fashion Week but it just didn’t feel right. I had tried it on as a dress, buttoned up with the sleeves cuffed, which I think I may wear it like that at some point. I really love it styled as a jacket. I can see myself throwing this on a number of outfits to spice them up. This button up was a bit of a splurge but I got it for half off and the rest of my outfit is very affordable, my t-shirt was from Marshalls, my jeans were on super sale at Gap and my shoes are from Target!

* I wore quite a few old things here but I love re-wearing my clothing and switching things around. I have had this shirt for years and these jeans were a great bargain that keeps on giving!
