Black Shearling And 2 Pops Of Red + My Favorite Maternity Style Trick
The challenge of dressing a baby bump is so fun to me! This pregnancy is taking place a couple months before my first, so the seasons are slightly off. I’ll be able to wear a lot of the same clothes but I know I’ll need more maternity jeans. I bought a few pairs last time and wore them a good amount, but once I hit 8 months it was summer and I wasn’t interested in wearing denim.
After posting maternity photos with Myles I had a lot of people asking wear I bought my clothes and what my favorite maternity brands were. I have to say, I didn’t really buy maternity clothes. I know I have 3 pair of maternity jeans, a pair of shorts, one dress and a couple workout leggings. I’ve never been in to a maternity clothing store, I’m sure they have some cute stuff but I love going to in my normal favorite stores and finding everyday clothes that fit my growing midsection!
At the bottom of this post I’ve actually posted a photo of my trick which I was hope all of you pregnant women already know. If you don’t already do this than I am saving you big time!
Living in Memphis where the winters are mild allows me to stock up on adorable jackets. There is no need to have more than one really warm winter coat since it barely gets below freezing. I mostly have bombers and leather jackets, a few blazers but I wanted something a little heavier than what I already own and not a coat that is to walk around the snow in. This black jacket is just perfect! I got it from Express last week and I went to H&M right after and they have a jacket so similar I thought it was the exact same!
I’m always so hesitant to wear red lipstick! I’m not sure I can pull it off. I’ve mentioned in posts before how I hate when people say they can’t pull something off because they should just try it. And I do try things. Looking at these pictures, the red lipstick looks fine, like it does on any other girl BUT…. I don’t think I look like myself here and I’m going to guess it’s because of the red lips 🙂
Here it is pregnant and soon to be pregnant mamas!
This is definitely an unusual photo but I really wanted you all to see the hair band trick. I do own a bellyband which I use when I’m in my third trimester. The hairband is perfect when you can button your pants but it’s not comfortable. Right now, none of my high rise jeans are close to buttoning so I use the hairband. My low rise jeans button and it’s comfortable when I’m standing but when I sit it’s so tight and extremely uncomfortable. So I always have the hairband on all my jeans.
This is how I’m able to wear so many of my jeans throughout my pregnancy!
I was actually stumped when putting this outfit together. I love this jacket so much I just wanted the most perfect look. I’m not sure what I was worried about because I’ll be wearing this jacket plenty of times and it will even make it’s way on Living LeReve again! I have been wearing these mules a lot because they are so comfortable and the heel isn’t too high. I decided to let the shoes be the only color (except for my lips) and have the rest of my outfit be about texture. This jacket is just incredible, it is so soft. I love the applique on the jeans too!
